**I'll be updating this once we have more specific guidance and / or a roadmap for weddings, hopefully week commencing 22 Feb**
In the meantime please get in touch if you have any questions about anything or scroll down for more info on how I imagine things will work once we're allowed to celebrate weddings again. I'm also keeping my list of unavailable 2021 and 2022 dates updated so if you do need to change your date then the process will be as simple as possible.
If weddings are permitted to go ahead with restricted numbers it's worth keeping in mind that last year, according to official Government guidance, attendance numbers DID NOT include your suppliers. Which is a small silver lining and allows you to fill your quota with guests. Hopefully this won't change as weddings start up again.
Scroll down for some FAQs, and those all important dates, and please shout if I can help in any way.
WHAT HAPPENS IF RESTRICTIONS EASE AND WE DECIDE TO GO AHEAD WITH A SMALLER WEDDING DAY OR AN ELOPEMENT?
Great news! Elopements and micro weddings are absolutely incredible. If you do decide to go ahead then it goes without saying, I would still love to be part of your day!
I’ve put together some ‘micro’ packages and we can amend your contract and the package you’ve booked to ensure that you’ve got the best photography coverage of your day.
If you want any hints, tips or ideas for your new plans then let me know and we can have a good old natter about it!
WHAT IF WE WANT TO HOLD TWO WEDDINGS NOW?
I had a fair few couples go for this option in 2020. They had a small, legal ceremony and are now planning a big old party for a later date.
A lot of people are opting to have a humanist / celebrant perform another ceremony or blessing on this later date and treating it as a second wedding date. Why restrict yourself to just one wedding eh?!
If this is something you’ve decided to do then fab! We can have a chat about how it will all work. Remember to check my availability before you go booking in that second date!
WILL ANYTHING CHANGE WITH YOUR WEDDING VIDEOGRAPHY IF WEDDING RESTRICTIONS ARE EASED THROUGHOUT 2021?
Essentially, no. When weddings were allowed to take place I was lucky enough to be part of some incredible days – albeit slightly smaller than usual. Whatever the restrictions are eased to then I’ll work with you to ensure that your photography package suits your plans.
The only changes are in terms of my social distancing.
In my personal life I’m continuing to limit social contact and sticking to the Government guidance. When it comes to your wedding day please don’t be offended if I don’t greet you with my usual hug or you see me washing my hands regularly or using hand sanitiser. I want to keep myself, you and your guests healthy!
Of course, if I – or anyone in my household – was showing symptoms then I’ll be following the guidance, taking a test and self isolating. I wouldn’t put you or your guests at risk by attending your wedding. Which brings me onto my next point…
IF I BECOME INFECTED WITH CORONAVIRUS OR HAVE TO SELF ISOLATE.
I will follow the government guidelines by self-isolating and I will be unable to shoot your wedding. Your health, and the health of your guests, is of the utmost importance and I don’t want to put anyone at risk of infection.
To be prepared, I have joined up with a small group of wedding videographer friends ( who are all of a similar style to me) and one of them would cover your wedding if needed. In the event that this happens, I would inform you immediately and, circumstances allowing, arrange an online meeting between me, the back up videographer and you, to go through the plans for your wedding. Your wedding would be filmed exactly as I would do so. I would then edit the footage from the back up videographer and deliver your final films as normal.
WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU DECIDE TO POSTPONE YOUR WEDDING?
Whether a postponement comes about because of your own decision or because of a forced restriction it’s heartbreaking. Over the last year I’ve been speaking to 2020 couples who have nearly all been in this position and it’s hugely emotional. The one thing that has kept them all going is reminding themselves it’s a postponement not a cancellation. Your wedding will still happen and it is going to be BRILLIANT!
When it comes to a postponement then communication is key here!
Please let me know as soon as possible if you are thinking of doing this. I am more than happy to move your wedding booking to your new wedding date (if I am available). I really want to shoot your wedding – so please do check on my availability if you are considering this.
Below I have put the dates that I currently booked for 2021 and 2022. I will be keeping this list regularly updated. If you are at the point of discussing new dates then please use this to see my availability.
It’s always worth giving me a call as well when it comes to talking dates with your venue. My number is 07843 605 724 and I’m available any time to chat.
